 Recruitment Procedures

The WRDOAW Vacancy announcements are published in the websites for positions of three months to one year. WRDOAW recruits under two types of contracts: (i) Fixed-term contracts for one year and (ii) Special contracts, with a short period of employment (from 3 to 9 months) mainly emergency projects.

Recruitment takes place in the following categories:

  • Professional and Management: Staff in the Professional category, referred to as Officials of deputy director, director, consultant’s expertise.
  • General and Program Service: This category includes local qualified staff with the skills and ability to provide support service to the organization program missions and its professional staff. In this category, recruitment may take place at G-1 to G-10 levels.
  • For positions of one year, which are subject to a vacancy announcement (VN), recruitment can take from 2 to 4 months in normal base. The recruitment procedure includes:
  • Publication of vacancy (3 to 4 weeks)
  • Screening of applicants
  • Interviewing short-listed applicants
  • Selection recommendation
  • Review at the Appointment and Posting Board
  • Appointment
  • For positions of 3 to 9 months, which are subject to short-term vacancy announcements (SVN), the recruitment can take from 2 to 4 weeks in emergency cases. The recruitment procedure includes:
  • Publication of vacancy (1 to 2 weeks)
  • Screening of applicants
  • Interviewing short-listed applicants
  • Selection recommendation
  • Review and approval of Human Resources Management
  • Appointment

Who Can Apply?

Minimum requirements in all categories include:

  • People between 21 and 62 years old
  • Fluent knowledge of local languages and/or English

In the Professional category:

  • Nationals from WRDOAW Members or out side
  • Holders of an advanced university qualification
  • Persons with at least 3 years of professional experience in their respective fields of expertise, or several years of experience for senior level positions
  • Persons willing to be assigned to WRDOAW duty stations in the field
  • The specific set of qualification will be requested on the published vacancy announcement

In General and Program Service category:

  • Holders of at least a secondary school diploma or equivalent, and/or relevant technical qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of Word for Windows and Excel software or analogous software
  • Strong communication and trustworthy behavior skills
  • The specific set of qualification will be requested on the published vacancy announcement
